You know I'm getting back in form if I'm making lists. I'm skipping the LJ cut this time, because I really need to be able to see this when I pull up my journal. It's not massive, but if it ends up sending your Flist page into freakouts, let me know.

Today I take what is hopefully the final step in finding out if one of my Plan B's is going to pan out. More on that when things develop more clearly. Until then...

Another fascinating edition of  "keeping myself sane." I think job app season is winding down, unless a bunch of last minute opportunities come through, so hopefully I will soon be a little less busy. Also hopefully one of the many jobs I've applied for will come through soon, which will alleviate all kinds of stress and worry and busy-ness. Until such time...

Ugh

I lost most of my day today. Bun spent about 8 hours in the ER yesterday with shortness of breath. All those hours and $480 later and they tell us the tests show nothing, it's probably just seasonal allergies gone a little wild. Then two dehydrated, exhausted, hungry, stressed girls get into the car to drive home and you can imagine how that ended up. Lots of tears and late night talking things over, and a sleepy pair of girls this morning. We got up and went and got some lunch then came home to nap. Bun's supposed to be taking it easy for a few days -- they took so much blood she doesn't have a choice, really -- but I have no excuse except physical and emotional exhaustion. So I'm already behind the 8 ball on everything I've got to accomplish, which is not really helping my stress levels. I'm going to put up my to-dos for the next week, and I'm going to organize them into categories to see if that makes me a bit saner.

This coming week is likely the last big push on the job search, or at least the academic portion of it, so that should at least keep me a bit saner in the coming month. The fact that March is likely to be a tight money month (with no UoP check) is something I'm not really thinking about right now.

Move it along, move it along, nothing to see here.... )

Busy Tuesday

Today's one of my days when I work at home, and when I essentially work for myself. While it's meant a reduction in my SMU paychecks, having Tuesdays and Thursdays to concentrate on UoP, scholarship, and life stuff has also meant a reduction in my stress. I need to do my weekly to-do post, but thought I'd take a few minutes to figure out my day.

As always, feel free to skip it.

Parade of Tuesday Adventures )
Tha'ts all pretty manageable for a Tuesday, right? Maybe, if I'm really lucky, I'll get done in time to do some yoga!

Now for something completely different

Ok, I've recovered (mostly) from my job-related flail of yesterday. Today is one of the two days I don't go to SMU, and with rehearsals and all over, I can actually use these days for what they are intended for -- writing, job applications, and UoP stuff. *makes little squirrel noises*

So here it is.... )

Be the squirrel, be the squirrel

Ok, so I don't know if I was just a total lazy-ass last week, if I overestimated how much I could get done in a seven day span, or what, but not nearly enough is crossed off last week's list. This week promises to be nutz, with the show going up Thursday and rehearsals every night starting Tuesday. I also teach Monday, and have my online teaching responsibilities to attend to. I will not freak out. I will make a nice, tidy list that will keep me sane for the next 7 to 10 days. Yes, I will. Yes, I will.

You know what to do.... )

To-Dos, Week of February 2

I actually got some forward momentum today, and I'm impressed with myself and how much I managed to do. I often take Brighid as my New Year, and I guess that some of the changes I've made since 1 Jan have finally taken hold. I still have a daunting pile of work to do this week, but it feels less overwhelming than past weeks.

I need a squirrel icon for these posts, since [info]shotfromthehip</lj> always encourages me to "be the squirrel." Anyone got one or more they are willing to share?

And with that, on to the list. You know the drill...feel free to skip...yaddayaddayadda...
