YAY! I'm glad you enjoyed it, too.

Now you can GIVE IT BACK! ;)

And now you have to read Keeping Watch which is a sort of sequel/prequel/connected book.

Heheee...well do I come there, you wanna come here, or do you want me to stick it in the mail? :)

BTW, I think you and zestfive should be reading each other's journals...I think you'd get along like the proverbial burning domicile...

I LOVED Folly! I'm so glad you enjoyed it too. You should also read "Keeping Watch" which has some common characters. beware, super intense vietnam parts.

Hah, I just saw the first comment. What other books does she recommend? GRIN

I'll have to look that one up. You and threerings should really be reading each other...I think you'd get along famously. And if you don't read writerlibrarian, take a look at her too!

A glanced back at your older entry to your older entry at 50BK and saw that snippy little 'request' about LJ-cut.

[info]jadis and I were not happy about people being bullied into cutting their entries by other members because of length. Spoilers, yes, long lists and big pics yes but not over length.

So just so you know that it really is a matter of what you want to do over another member who is too lazy to scroll down longer entries.

Yeah, I sort of thought the snarky way I put it and the extreme cut might make the point :) I've had some bitchiness about the length of my entries before, so I'm trying to be courteous :)

Not that I am surprised at all, but it seems we share a taste in books.
You are, afaik, the only person I know who also absolutely loved The Mermaid Chair. Hell, you might be the only person I know besides me who has read the damned thing.
I do love that book.
I love The Secret Life of Bees as well, but it is a decided second.
I have not read any of her Christian writings, however, have you?

I actually like The Secret Life of Bees even more than The Mermaid Chair</b> but it's a tough choice. I haven't read her Christian writings, but I did read Dance of the Dissident Daughter, about her feminist spiritual awakening, and it was very moving.
